Kenya is arguably one of the leading Safari destinations in Africa. This is because of a variety of wildlife it can offer, rich Culture and beautiful beaches among other attractions. The 14 days safari entails, Diving and Snorkelling at the Indian Ocean, safaris in Tsavo East National Park, Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National Park, lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Day 1

Destination: Arrival at Moi International Airport

Activity: Sunset Dhow Cruise

Welcome to Kenya! Your Guide carrying a placard will be waiting for your arrival at Moi International Airport in Mombasa. From the airport to the accommodation facilities is an hour away. The selection of the premises a distance away from the noisy city is intentional. This is meant to offer you totally a different ambiance away from the city.

Sunset Dhow Cruise

Depending on the time of your arrival, a sunset dhow cruise is set to relax your mind while enjoying the silence and the fresh breeze of the ocean as you watch the sun setting. A variety of drinks and snacks are on board.

Later in the evening, enjoy a candle light dinner at the gaze of the stars that may include sea foods and local delicacies before heading back to your resort.

Day 2

Destination: Wasini Island

Activity: Diving and Snorkeling, Dhow cruise and Visit to Slave Caves

After breakfast, as per the time communicated by your guide, you will head out for snorkeling. While you are cruising on the dhow, there are higher chances of seeing Dolphins, birds among others. During the activty, you are exposed to marine life under the ocean like the sea plants, coral reefs, and different kinds of fish, Dolphins and other reptiles.

After lunch, you will visit the slave caves on the main land of Shimon village where Slaves were first kept before transportation to Zanzibar in the slave market.

Day 3

Destination: Tsavo East National Park

Activity: Sunset Safari

The day resumes early as you are headed to Tsavo East National Park for yet a tremendous wildlife experience in one of the oldest Parks in Kenya. The Park is famously known for big populations of Lions and the fascinating red colored Elephants in the areas of Aruba dam. Lot of wildlife to encounter like the spotted Hyenas, Leopards, Zebras, Dik diks and colorful birds like the sand grouse,  ostriches, Bustards, among others. Lunch is to be served from the lodge as you prepare for the sun set safari.

Day 4

Destination: Tsavo East National Park

Activity: Full day wildlife safari and nature walk.

The day will resume with early breakfast before embarking on the morning game drive. As the sun rises, an opportunity avails to take pictures of the colorful sun with animals and acacia vegetation in the background. A lot more is expected to be encountered like Hyenas, Leopards, Elephants, Cheeters, and Zebras among others.

Nature walk

The decision of either carrying packed lunch or having hot lunch from the lodge before visiting Lugard falls is entirely up to your agreement with your guide. With an armed ranger, you will walk to view the falls .A slight Hike may as well be applicable since you are passing through the rocky areas that create falls from River Galana. The water plunges beneath the river bed turning the roaring river into a silent one as it continues its journey. The eyes are well fed as you witness various colorful rocks for which are naturally painted. Animals like Hippos and crocodiles among others can be sighted on the shores or in the river.

Day 5

Destination: Tsavo West National Park

Activities: Travel

The endless plains, embroiled with scattered acacia trees that inhabit Masai Giraffes, Cheeters and Hyenas is one of the variety of vegetation covers that you have a glance at when arriving in the park. As the drive continues further, a glimpse of mountainous land scape is sighted at the far horizon covered in thickets harboring elephants, Wildebeests and a variety of bird species. Secretary birds, francolins and Bustards are among the list. On arrival at the Lodge, you will relax so as to enjoy and appreciate the remoteness of the park as you are being surrounded by wildlife.

Day 6

Destination: Tsavo West National Park

Activity: Sunrise and Sunset Safari

Sunrise safari

As it is the norm, the sunrise safari will commence early in the morning in such of the rare nocturnal animals like Lions, Leopards, Wild dogs and Hyenas among others before they return to their hideouts. As the day continues to sprout, other animals to encounter are the lesser Kudus, cheeters, Rhinos, Wildebeests, Dikdiks and Zebras. A variety of bird species like Hornbills and Eagles among other birds of the 600 species that the Park inhabits. Later you will return to the lodge, have lunch and relax.

Sunset safari

Mzima Springs is one of the highlights of a holiday tour in Kenya! The clear waters of the spring originates beneath the volcanic rock floor to create the mzima springs which flows through the solidified lava floor before being blocked by another lava rock hence disappearing  beneath. Hippos and crocodiles are residents of the spring that will grace your arrival. Later in the afternoon, sun downer will be arranged, to allow you connect with nature outside the car, have a drink of your choice with snacks as you watch the sun setting. Your return at the lodge will be at dusk.

Day 7

Destination: Amboseli National Park

Activity: Sunset Safari

The drive to Amboseli National Park will take you through a stretch of volcanic lava with scenic landscape of solidified black rocks for an average of 4 kilometers. As you continue your journey, you can’t help smiling while driving through the Masai community as they graze cows in their traditional attire that are known for. Nearing the Park, the ceiling of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro ushers you to Amboseli National Park with spectacular views of her snowcapped peak.

Sunset Safari

 Amboseli National Park is famously known for her big tusker elephants that are sighted up close and personal, Hyenas, Lions and water birds on the shores of the Lake, like the Lesser and Greater flamingos, Hamerkops, among others. No better place to catch a sunset picture that turns the lake to orange with wildlife in the background than Amboseli National Park. Being a relatively flat park with scattered vegetation, animals are easily sighted. Other animals to encounter are the zebras, cheeters, Wild dogs and Gazelles.

Day 8

Destination: Amboseli National Park

Activity: Sunrise safari and Masai community experience

As dawn breaks, the search for wildlife resumes. You are likely to encounter Cheeters, Lions, Zebras, Gazelles, Hyenas and quite a number of bird species. Without doubt Amboseli National Park has more to offer than words can tell. Expect to encounter birds like black winged stilt, Pied Avocets, Water thicknees, Herons, flamingos among others. You will return to the Lodge for lunch as you wait for the community experience later in the day.

Masai Community experience

The cultural experience like no other! The Masai people are among the few cultures in the world that have stood the test of time and remained authentic. Nothing much has changed since there migration to East Africa in the early 15th century. On arrival at the masai village, you are welcomed by the masai people, well dressed in their colorful attires as they sing and dance their traditional songs. The elder spearheads the ceremony, as he explains about their lifestyle. Your guide will move with you so as to keep translating. Masai people depend on their cow’s products, therefore you will participate in milking the cows and tasting their delicacies if you so wish. Some of the delicacies is fresh blood from cows mixed with Milk. Their housing settlement is another experience of its kind whereby their houses known as Bomas are built using local materials like grass for roofing, sticks, Mud and cow dung for wall and floor construction. The house only have two openings, which is the front door and the passage for smoke on top of the roof when fire is set inside the Boma. When entering the Boma, you are advised to bend low so as to fit in. later in the evening, you will return to the lodge in preparation for your dinner.

Day 9

Destination: Lake Nakuru National Park

Activity: sun set safari

The Journey from Amboseli will lead you to Lake Nakuru National Park in search of Rhinos and thousands of flamingos as the main highlight of the visit to the Park. Other animals to encounter are the Rothchild’s Giraffes, Lions, Zebras, Leopards and many others. Your first safari in the park will be late in the afternoon after relaxation.

Day 10

Destination: Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve

Activity: Boat cruise

In the morning as per the time briefed by your guide, you will go for the boat cruise on Lake Nakuru. A variety of bird species are expected to be encountered most especially thousands if not tens of thousands of lesser and Greater flamingos that paint the water pink! Other wildlife to encounter are hippos, Pelicans and many others. Breakfast will be served during the cruise. After the boat, you will embark on the journey to Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 11

Destination: Masai Mara National Reserve

Activity: Full day Safari

Take a full day out in the vast plains of Masai mara to sight the best that the park can offer ranging from Rhinos, huge herds of Elephants, zebras, Wildebeests, Leopards, Cheeters, Prides of Lions, Hippos in the salty waters and crocodiles in Mara river ready to pounce on other animals trying to cross. Lunch is to be served in the wilderness surrounded by wildlife! At your request or when time is due, your guide will return you to the lodge to relax and get ready for dinner.

Day 12

Destination: Masai Mara National Reserve

Activity: Sundowner

Having been waking up early, today you decide the time to have breakfast. Much of the day is to be spent at the camp so as to let you enjoy the amenities around the premises. Late in the afternoon, you will head out for a sundowner in the wilderness to connect with nature while reminiscing of the best moments so far you have had during the trip. The fresh breeze, sights and sounds of nature will complete your day as you watch the sun going down.

Day 13

Destination: Nairobi

Activity: Travel

Breakfast will be served at the time of your choice before embarking on a long Journey to Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. Along the way, scenic landscapes are inevitable to miss. The Eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley showcases various features that can be sighted closer, far and beyond the eyes can see. Such are the different ridges made of different rock types, the evergreen lashes, wetlands and wildlife. You will have lunch en route hence an opportunity to taste on the local cuisines like nyama choma and Ugali (roasted goat or beef accompanied by corn bread). The journey may take 6-7 hours.

Day 14

Destination: Nairobi

Activity: Flight

Depending on the flight time, it is important to relax at the lodge in preparation of the long journey back home. A short tour within the city is recommended for those that may wish to explore the city lifestyle of the local people. However, it is important to notice the hotel personnel so as to advise accordingly for the sake of your safety. Other places to visit are;

The Giraffe Centre. You get up close and personal with the Giraffes by hand feeding them. This provides an opportunity to know details of this magnificent creature.

National Museum. Get to know more of Kenya’s cultural, Political and Natural history. This is exhibited in recreation of rock art, Hominid fossils, Kenyan tribal culture, wildlife and others.

At the time of your flight, your guide or an arranged airport Taxi will drive you to the airport and bid farewells until we meet again.
